Gypsy Love

Today a few of the women in my family came over and helped me paint one of the walls in the living room. With four of us painting, it only took an hour and a half to set up and finish painting. The only downside to the experience...paint is ridiculously expensive. I bought a gallon of Benjamin Moore paint, and it cost $47. On the plus side, it was low-VOC paint, and it had absolutely no paint smell. I didn't even know it was possible to have paint that didn't smell like anything, but this paint is scent-free, and that alone was almost worth the outrageous cost I paid for it.

Here are some pictures from painting day...

Testing out paint swatches...I went for the top one, called "Gypsy Love."

Our first really sad attempt to draw a circle on the wall to paint around....

My grandma looking super cute in front of the finished wall...

The living room (there will be a couch there someday)....

In case you're wondering, I just used everyday household objects to trace the circles on the wall - a few pot lids, a plastic cup, and a wreath frame. The huge circle was made by tying a string to a nail at one end and a pencil at the other, sticking the nail in the wall, and pulling the string taut to make a circle with the pencil. I plan on filling a few of the big circles with some pictures, and then leaving the smallest ones blank.

So....what do you think?! Didn't it turn out great? We all couldn't stop commenting on how fantastic it turned out, and every once in a while one of us would go stand in the living room and just gaze contentedly at the wall for a few minutes.

Oh and in response to your question Donald miller does in fact go to imago and so do we. Although...I've never actually seen him there. Maybe it's all a myth. ...or....maybe I just don't do to church often enough :). Either way he's still quite elusive.
