When I get bored, I paint

Yesterday I felt bored with our apartment, so I went to Ace Hardware and bought a paint sample to try out on one of the walls. This is what I do when I get bored with my home decor: I paint things. I liked the way the paint sample looked on the wall, so today I went back and bought supplies and more paint, and painted a previously boring white wall a rich, deep blue.

And I love it! I tried to get a blue that was vibrant and rich enough to go with the pink wall right next to it, and I think I succeeded.

In order to paint the wall I had to take all my books off the bookshelves, because even though I tried, I couldn't drag the shelves away from the wall with the books still on them. I can't believe how many books I have.

Well, actually, I can. I am an English major, after all.

Today was a good day to paint the wall, because poor Mr. Onyx was super mellow. He hurt his paw the other day (actually, I think I hurt it by stepping on it), and has been limping around on three legs today, and lying sadly on the bed.

The vet thinks he sprained his ankle, so he has to rest and take lots of pain medication for the next week. It's so sad to see my normally hyper and happy dog lay around looking so depressed.
