Or at least that's what it felt like. We drove out to Sauvie Island on Saturday, which should have taken 20 minutes. It took more than an hour. We sat in traffic like this for about 45 minutes...
It made us crabby, but at least the views were pretty...
We were not too happy by the time we got to The Pumpkin Patch, but once we took a long walk down a dirt road to the pumpkin field in the waning afternoon sun, we felt better.
And when we saw this super-talented guy, our moods brightened right up...
We got our pumpkins (Josh's weighed a whopping 30 pounds!)...
...and we bought about 30 pounds of apples to make applesauce with...

...and by then we felt loads better. But now we know to go to the pumpkin patch in the middle of the week next year.
how fun! we usually take our prek students to the pumpkin patch each year, but won't be able to do it this year:( looks like a fun way to spend the weekend!
